Pass the Saving Energy Through Public Transportation Act

Despite the recent dip in gas prices, transportation expenses continue to constitute the second largest household expenditure nationally.  The Saving Energy Through Transportation Act would provide almost $2 billion to increase the service, capacity and affordability of public transportation nationwide -- a real stimulus to provide alternatives to the cost of driving, help Americans cut our dependence on oil, and solve a host of transportation problems.

I urge Senators Dodd and Lieberman to take action for Main St. by voting for the Saving Energy Through Public Transportation Act (SB 3380).  This bill will move us in the right direction, focus on addressing the big problems with transportation, and provide relief to American families struggling with high gas prices.
